Inspired by the changing seasons, Fall Harvest features a fall color palette using acrylic paint. It is also the first canvas I tried a geometric pattern in the background. I wanted to create more depth and layers without overwhelming Rovandio’s unique, minimalistic brushstrokes.

I named this piece Fall Harvest because the beautiful design looks like an abstract pumpkin or an ear of corn. I grew up in Maine and enjoyed the most incredible fall weather…the magical colors of the changing leaves and the crisp morning air. Here in Florida it is quite different but enjoyable in the winter when I don’t have to snowshoe to the barn on a stormy morning.

If someone had told me at that young age I would be painting with horses I think I would have been speechless. One of my driving motivations is to impress the inner child within me. I try to do things that would blow her mind, inspire her to reach for her dreams, no matter how many obstacles were in her path. I hope that Rovandio’s artwork inspires you to incorporate more imagination and magic into your daily life.
